This is my 66 Beetle done for a fun 30 day buildoff with my good friend 124stancebuilt. Body was given the patina look by using both the salt method as seen on Dr. Cranky’s YouTube channel & the Tamiya weathering kit. The bumpers also have some pits & rust spots by burst shots of matte clear & rust primer (Dr. Cranky method). Roof & rear deck racks were made from piano wire. Dremel was used to make the cuts and channels for the pieces to fit into another. Rounded pliers were used for the bends. One of my favorite parts is the console basket made from photo etch scraps from my Wildhare models shopping cart kit. The glove box is opened up to reveal an aftermarket radio and air ride controls. Custom decals are everywhere from the dash gauge to window stickers, vintage plate toppers and even on the engine. You’ll also see some photo etch plate toppers and headlight eyelids. Skateboard and milk crate are from my Detail Junkees lineup. The wagon and cooler are from Asuka Models. Thanks for looking! -David Bayon aka Dig Derange aka Detail Junkee
